Lender Information:
Throughout the application process lenders in receipt of information about people or companies are obliged to advise you of how the information will be used. This will usually be expressed in a "statement" close to a signature box.
Most lenders will confirm all information provided by you for the application, at least by way of Credit Reference Agency searches for point scoring. Each time a search is made this will be recorded by the agency and may be disclosed to organisations that may later make a search. Information such as previous borrowing and repayments will be disclosed and incorporated into credit scoring. |
|
PLEASE NOTE:
From time to time Westpoint Mortgage Management may use additional credit agencies to help prevent fraud. This may on occasion slow down an application but is often required to obtain a loan or mortgage. |
|
Future Use Of Information
Once a loan is made the lender may keep records of payments for their own records. It is also likely that payment information will be passed to the credit reference agencies and shown in future "searches". |
|
If Your Application Is Declined:
If lenders choose not to loan, they are not obliged to inform you of the exact reason for this. Usually this will be due to the belief that you would be unable to repay the amount or because of previous "Bad Credit". If you are in any doubt, you may ask the lender to advise you of the credit reference agency used so that you can obtain information held about you (There may be a small fee for this with some credit reference agencies).
Please Note - that loans are awarded solely at the lenders discretion. |
|
Credit Reference Companies:
Westpoint Mortgage Management may refer to the UK's main credit reference agencies when considering your application. You may be required to provide additional information such as proof of address and electoral registration information to work with some finance providers. |
|
How You Can Obtain Information Held That May Effect Your Credit Scoring:
If you would like to request a copy of information held that may effect you credit scoring from any Lender / Broker or Agency, you may request to see this at anytime. A fee of up to £10 may be charged, the firm must reply within 40 days from receipt of payment.
